The Bible Glossary

The Bible glossary provides interesting details about each biblical person and place mentioned in the book.

One feature of the glossary is a simplified pronunciation guide so that even a child can learn how to pronounce a proper noun in English . . . and in the original language-Hebrew, Aramaic, Egyptian, Babylonian or Greek. The entry for Potiphar explains that the name which Americans pronounce as POT-eh-fer, is pronounced poh-tee-FAR in Hebrew. It also points out that in 1935 an inscription from Egypt was found that contains this exact name.
